Is Bigger Better? New $5K TiVo Mega Can Store 26,000 Hours of TV

Sometimes it seems like there's nothing of quality to watch on television, but that's not really the case anymore. From Game of Thrones and Outlander to The Fall and True Detective, there are a lot of programs you don't want to miss—and that's not even considering your guilty pleasures, like Keeping Up With the Kardashians—and that's where DVRs come in. Well, thanks to TiVo, gone are the days where you had to worry about deleting saved programs to make room for new recordings, because the DVR giant recently announced their new 24-terabyte TiVo Mega—that's over 26,000 hours of TV.

“Size matters. People hate being forced to delete cool stuff from their DVR before they want to or finding a TV show they had recorded is now gone. Now, with TiVo Mega they can always know their show or movie is still there to watch later,” said Ira Bahr, CMO at TiVo. “TiVo Mega offers more than twelve times the storage of any cable or satellite DVR. TiVo Mega is the solution for the power user who wants to record everything. We salute you and enjoy!”

Proving that bigger is better, TiVo promises their new multi-room unit has 30 times the space of cable or satellite DVRs and swappable drives, giving you six tuners that can record programs simultaneously. You will also be able to stream live TV or recordings on your smartphone and tablet, as well as download shows to watch while offline.

Though the company hasn't announced the final price yet, they expect TiVo Mega to cost around $5,000 and plan on making it available to purchase in early 2015.

Because I said so

Just a short while ago, we finished moving all of my worldly possessions. Wow, I own a lot of stuff. I am no longer a resident of Arden Hills, MN. I now live in East St. Paul, MN. I'm also less than 48 hours from becoming a married man. That is of course assuming my bride to be makes in through the next 2 days. She's feeling the strain of the details at the moment. While I've been moving, she's been taking care of an endless number of things to make sure this is a fantastic event, and I appreciate that. We are being very Christ focused in our wedding. We're having a candle lighting ceremony at the end (similar to that which is done in many churches Christmas Eve) and challenging people to be a light unto the world. We pray that we are a light to those in attendance, and that everyone will take that and share it with others for the Kingdom.

Beyond having just moved and planning a wedding, I have a paper to write, so I suppose I'll get to that. It's only 11:53 PM, almost the perfect time to start a final paper 8-)

Likely I won't post again until we are back from our honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico. I can't wait to get there!
